SitSmart is right on track with a new five year nationwide contract with Network Rail, signalling a new era for the company.

Network Rail has been carrying out extensive research on health and safety issues in its signal boxes and control rooms over a long period of time and is gradually addressing potential back and neck issues for its workers by replacing all its current chairs with hard wearing, 24-hour ergonomic chairs from SitSmart.

After trialling some 30 chairs over the last 18 months from many UK wide companies, Network Rail came to the decision that two demonstrated by SitSmart were ones they wanted to use. The successful chairs were the KAB Controller and the RH Logic 400.
SitSmart will initially be installing over 500 chairs throughout the UK from Scotland to Cornwall to Wales and to the big London stations such as Waterloo and Liverpool Street, as part of an on-going refurbishment and replacement plan.

The Controller chair has all the key features required to provide great comfort and support and is guaranteed to hold weights of up to 24 stone. Key features include height and backrest angle adjustment, air lumbar support, adjustable headrest and armrests, rock & tilt synchronized mechanism and body contoured cushions.

The RH Logic 400 is also guaranteed to support up to 24 stone and features a vertical movement at the front of the seat, which is minimal when leaning backwards or forwards, enabling feet to stay in contact with the floor at all times. The chair is fitted with breathable natural fibre pads to both seat and back to maximize ventilation and comfort, while the lumbar support is guaranteed to always be in the correct position.
